The Region V Adult Literacy Center, funded by the Florida Department of Education, assists in enhancing, improving and expanding adult education/literacy programs and services for under-educated and/or educationally disadvantaged adults ages 16 and over.
NEED:

adults in Region V function at the lowest level of literacy. They need the
services of Adult Basic
Education, English for Speakers of Other
Languages, Adult Credit and GED preparation programs to acquire the
knowledge and skills to compete in a global economy and to exercise the
rights and responsibilities of citizenship and make healthy lifelong
decisions.
Enhance coordination and communication.
Conduct public awareness campaigns.
Recruit adult learners.
Recruit and train literacy volunteers.
